Greensboro Symphony Orchestra: Pinchas Zukerman Gala

Dana Auditorium on the campus of Guilford College was the site of a gala concert for the Greensboro Symphony in January of 2016. It featured the world-renowned violinist Pinchas Zukerman as guest soloist. He teamed with conductor and fellow violinist Dmitry Sitkovetsky to perform a Bach concerto for two violins, and with South African cellist Amanda Forsyth to perform the Brahms “Double” Concerto. The concert opened with Mendelssohn’s overture evoking the rugged Scottish coast. Then the program heads over to southwestern North Carolina for highlights from a concert of chamber music featuring Franz Schubert’s work, including his most famous art song.
