Playwright, actor, performer, singer-songwriter Taylor Mac has performed around the world, starting at the HERE Arts Center and The Public Theater in New York City and moving globally to a long list of venues, including the Sydney Opera House and London’s Soho Theatre.
Mac is currently a member of New Dramatists. He has been the recipient of numerous grants and honors, including a Rockefeller Map Grant, the James Hammerstein Award for playwriting, and the Edinburgh Festival's Herald Angel Award. Mac performed at Spoleto Festival USA in 2008 with The Be(a)st of Taylor Mac and returns in 2011 for Comparison is Violence: The Ziggy Stardust Meets Tiny Tim Songbook.
Upcoming projects include performing his original play, The Lily’s Revenge, across the U.S. and U.K.; creating a two-man theatrical concert with Mandy Patinkin; and creating a festival of full-length plays inspired by four Greek plays (first up: The Baccae).
