THE INTRO

THE HIT SINGLE: "Sola, perduta, abbandonata ..."

In the opera's final act, Manon and Des Grieux are stranded in the desert, with Manon near death. Des Grieux goes in search of water, and Manon (soprano Eva-Maria Westbroek) sings the desperate aria "Sola, perduta, abbandonata ..." -- "Alone, lost, abandoned." Reflecting on her life, she realizes the only thing with true meaning has been the love she shared with Des Grieux.

THE B SIDE: "Donna non vidi mai"

In Act One, just after Des Grieux (tenor Brandon Jovanovich) and Manon meet for the first time, he sings that he's never seen such an extraordinary woman in the opera's most famous number, the aria "Donna non vidi mai."
